The Invacare Tracer EX2 is the latest model in the industry standard Tracer line. Tracer wheelchairs are probably used by more hospitals and nursing homes then any other standard chair and are very popular with the individual buyer.

There are very strong chairs and many are still in use after 20 years or more. We have some in our rental fleet that were built in the mid 1980s and have only needed the bearings and upholstery replaced.

The Tracer EX2 combines some of the features found in the 9000 series lightweight chairs with the strength of the Tracer series, including dual axle positions for adjustable seat height. Larger diameter composite handrims are easier to grip then chrome and the chair is a little lighter for easier pushing.

The EX2 also has the Invacare style footrest brackets which wrap completely around the front frame, unlike some brands where the bracket is just welded to the rear of the front frame. This results in a tougher frame for those times when you run into a door frame with the footrest. You may still bend the footrest, but you will not tear the bracket off the chair.

The EX2 has the standard arm options of removable full or desk length arms, but the feature that sets the EX2 apart from all the other standard wheelchairs is the fixed offset arm option. If you need fixed arms to aid in rising from the chair on most models you have about two inches less space between the arms than you have seat width. In other words, an 18 inch wide seat, fixed arm chair will only have 16 inches between the arms. With the EX2 you get the full width. Not a huge thing but it is a help to some people.

In short, a chair I highly recommend for professional or individual use.
